There appeared to be more than 1,000 people there all talking at the same time and eating roast beef before the meeting started.

Getting to the event was slow going due to President Bush's arrival at Palm Springs Airport and motorcade. Many roads were closed by local authorities and the Secret Service. Like all good alcoholics we all arrived on time. After all, we wouldn't have let this stop us from getting to the liquor store.
